Information About Therapy

Who I Work With

I work with BIPOC women who want to live peaceful and liberated lives. My best-fit client is someone who is eager to grow and develop on every level.

Therapy is an active, involved, and effortful process. I work best with people who make therapy a part of their life. Your growth depends on how much you’re willing to be honest, learn from your experiences, and step outside your comfort zone.

Moreover, therapy often involves out-of-session self-monitoring tasks, homework assignments, exercises, or challenges. As with other skill-building and conditioning endeavors, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.

My Values

I take responsibility for making a safe space for your voice, listening deeply to your experiences, stories, and histories while being sensitive to your perspectives and identities. I operate from a framework rooted in anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices. I strive to challenge racism, sexism, homophobia, and oppression in all its forms.

In addition, l respect and nurture your culture, class, gender, orientation, racial, and religious differences. I will acknowledge our sameness and differences in a way that celebrates who we are.

My Therapy Style

My work is aimed at liberation; setting people truly free so they can be in charge of their own lives. To accomplish this, I utilize the following approaches:

I combine Eastern practices with Western psychology, trauma therapies, philosophy, and spirituality. You’ll notice that I might quote scientific data and talk about your chakras in the same sentence. I have found that a flexible, integrative approach works best with different people, problems, and contexts.

I practice holistically. This kind of therapy integrates spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional forms of well-being. My goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself on all these levels. I also believe that social, economic, and ecological issues are interconnected and interdependent. The problems are interrelated, and so are the solutions. .

Two Ways to Work Together

Online Therapy (also known as teletherapy, telemental health, e-therapy, or online counseling) allows you to get help from the safety - and comfort - of your home. No more spending time and money traveling to appointments, sitting in traffic, paying for child care, or taking time off from work.

Walk & Talk Therapy sessions are available for local clients when my schedule allows. The outdoors acts as a calming natural environment for you to feel comfortable while moving your body. Please inquire if you’re interested in taking our therapy sessions to a trail or park.

How Therapy Can Help You

You…

  • Are good at achieving things, but your life lacks purpose and fulfillment

  • Get sidelined by anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, and loneliness

  • Don’t know who you are or how to access your intuition

  • Feel like your life was scripted for you, not by you

  • Struggle to express your feelings and needs

  • Get uncomfortable when asking for help

  • Have tried self-help books, meds, yoga, and even therapy, but nothing has gotten to the root of the problem or helped create lasting changes

  • Have a tendency to disconnect from yourself, others, and reality when under stress

  • Don’t make yourself a priority

You Want To…

  • Show up in your life - with your family, friendships, and work - in a way that doesn’t disempower you

  • Break free from old patterns that don't bring you peace.

  • Feel relaxed, calm, and free

  • Make life-affirming choices in your everyday life

  • Know what to do with your busy mind filled with worries and negative thoughts

  • Have more fun!

  • Feel whole, spacious, and deeply okay - rather than being hard on yourself

  • Be open, honest, and trusting of others

  • Accept and move on from your past

  • Feel fully alive and aware, present to the moments of this precious life

Therapy Approaches

I draw from the following treatment modalities. I may use one method exclusively or blend them for an integrative approach.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables you to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. Learn More >>>

Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy

Heart-Centered-Hypnotherapy approaches therapy from a deeply caring and dynamically healing perspective. You’ll earn how to access, deep within your subconscious mind, the key to your individual health and healing. Heart-Centered-Hypnotherapy has successfully treated a wide variety of presenting problems. Learn More >>>

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Through mindfulness, we are able to examine the inner workings of our minds. We then come to experience a profound change in attitude and perspective. We begin to see things as they truly are, unfettered by illusions and social mandates. Thus, we come to a more authentic and genuine view of reality. Learn More >>>

Psychotherapeutic Reiki

The goal of Reiki is to allow the body to be at its optimal condition for life energy to flow freely, thereby allowing natural healing to occur in the mind and body. You’ll learn how to ground and be fully present in your body, listening to what the body, mind, and soul are revealing as symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.
