Intake Process
During the first appointment, you can expect to talk about your personal history and what brings you to seek therapy at this stage in your life. We will review a few essential policies and start discussing therapy goals. Therapy goals are co-created with the input of both you and me. This allows for the treatment goals to be tailored to your needs and expectations. We will also choose a standing appointment time. Sessions are typically held weekly, bimonthly or monthly depending on client concerns.
Follow-up Sessions
Typically, follow-up sessions are spent actively working on your treatment goals. You can also expect to leave most sessions with a tool or skill to practice during the week in between. You will be expected to be active in your treatment and take full responsibility for your progress. Therapy only works when you do!
Insurance, Fees, Packages
Intake Appointment (90 minutes) - $225
Follow-up sessions (45 minutes) - $175
(60 minutes) - $200
(90 minutes) - $225
EMDR sessions are ALWAYS booked at the 60 or 90 minute rate
Reiki (60 minutes) - $75
Hypnotherapy Intake Appointment (60 minutes) - $100
After the initial appointment, hypnotherapy sessions are offered as a package and they will be scheduled weekly.
3 sessions - $280

I currently accept the following insurance plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield, NC State Health Plan, Duke Student Health Insurance, Aetna (including Duke Select), UnitedHealthcare/UMR, Oscar Health, Oxford.
Using your health insurance for mental health therapy means that you must meet the criteria to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder from the DSM-V or ICD-10. If you do not want to be diagnosed, you can opt-out of using your insurance. In this case, a superbill will be provided to you for reimbursement by your insurance provider.
We ask all clients to confirm coverage for therapy with their insurance provider prior to the start of treatment. Failure to do so may result in the client being responsible to cover the total cost for services.
Cancellations
If there is a need to cancel, I ask that you do so at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. All late cancellations, no matter the reason, are subject to the total cost of the session or if you're using insurance, the contracted rate.
All services are offered virtually to make healing more accessible to all. Due to the general ease of using online services and text/email appointment reminders, if you do not contact me regarding lateness within ten (10) minutes of the start of our session, the session will be considered a no-show and subject to the full fee.
Between-Session Support
If you need crisis support between our scheduled appointments, you can contact me to schedule an additional session. Crisis sessions are usually covered by insurance.
If you cannot reach me and need immediate assistance, please call 911 or the Alliance Health Crisis Response 24-Hour Crisis Hotline at (800) 510-9132.
Online Therapy and Walk & Talk Therapy
Except for a few Walk & Talk appointments, all sessions are virtual. Because I am licensed in North Carolina state, I can work with clients located in the state. You’ll be sent an email invitation to access the online video platform.
Walk & Talk therapy sessions are available to a small number of clients located in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill). Please inquire about availability if you are interested.
Office Hours
Office hours are Monday - Friday from 9 am - 3 pm.
Client Portal
All clients will receive access to a HIPAA-compliant online portal where you can access your online video sessions, intake forms, billing information, and the schedule. We highly encourage clients to use the portal to cancel and reschedule appointments. You will also receive email and text reminders of your appointments 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.
How to Become a Client
To get started, simply fill out the New Client Inquiry Form. I will contact you via phone or email to have a brief conversation about your goals. If we decide that I am the right therapist for you, we’ll schedule your first appointment and I’ll provide you with access to a client portal where you can complete the intake paperwork.
