What is Reiki?

Healing from childhood trauma and toxic family systems isn't only a cognitive process — it lives in the body too. Years of hypervigilance, emotional suppression, and chronic stress leave their signature in the nervous system, in patterns of tension, disconnection, and exhaustion that talk therapy alone doesn't always reach.

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice that works at exactly this level. As a Reiki Master (Usui Shiki Ryoho), I use Reiki to help clients reconnect with their bodies, release energetic blockages stored from unprocessed trauma, and create the conditions of safety and groundedness that deep healing requires.

Because Reiki works with energy rather than physical touch or location, distance Reiki sessions are just as effective as in-person ones — which means this service is available to you no matter where you are in the world.

Why Use Reiki?

For survivors of childhood emotional neglect and toxic family systems, the body often holds what the mind has tried to move past. Reiki creates space for that deeper release.

When integrated with trauma-conscious psychotherapy, Reiki can help you:

  • Calm a chronically activated nervous system and reduce hypervigilance

  • Release trauma stored as physical tension, heaviness, or numbness in the body

  • Build a felt sense of safety in your own body — often for the first time

  • Process grief, shame, and emotional pain that feels too heavy for words

  • Deepen your capacity to be present during therapy and in daily life

  • Restore energy depleted by years of masking, caretaking, and surviving

  • Support spiritual reconnection and inner peace

Reiki sessions are 60 minutes and available as a standalone service or as a complement to ongoing therapy. Distance sessions are available to clients worldwide. In-person sessions may be available in Raleigh and the Eastern Wake County (Garner, Clayton, Knightdale, Wendell) area, please inquire.

Your body has been carrying this long enough.
